Description chrisjbarth 2022-05-13 19:48:47 UTC
SUMMARY
***
Unable to do a 3-way comparison with pasted text.
***

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open kdiff3 and click Cancel to avoid opening any files.
2. Paste contents in A side and B side.
3. Try to paste contents in C side; fail. There is no C window.

OBSERVED RESULT
If I have the menu item Window > Show Window C checked, I should be able to see window C, even if I'm pasting in text.

EXPECTED RESULT
I have no way of seeing or interacting with window C.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Windows: 10

Would love to see this feature. 95% of the time I use Kdiff3, it's for quick comparisons with pasted text. Having to save to files to enable 3 way comparison is enough of a hassle that I've switched to Meld for this use case, but I'd much rather stay in this tool.
