Description gudvinr+kde 2022-05-04 06:38:50 UTC
SUMMARY

When launched in wayland session, RSIBreak polls for idle time but kf5idletime doesn't work under wayland so all you see is error messages:

kf5idletime_kwayland: This plugin does not support polling idle time

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Start Wayland session
2. Launch RSIBreak

OBSERVED RESULT
Log spam with kf5idletime_kwayland not being available

EXPECTED RESULT
Ideal solution would be implementing kf5idletime on wayland but that is not an RSIBreak issue.

If kf5idletime doesn't work polling should be disabled (probably with some visual indication and log message).

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Operating System: Arch Linux
KDE Plasma Version: 5.24.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.93.0
Qt Version: 5.15.3
Graphics Platform: Wayland

Comment 2 Toralf Förster 2022-06-13 19:05:15 UTC
It is not only spam - rsibreak malforms under wayland.
Comment 3 Bardur Arantsson 2022-07-23 08:03:19 UTC
Yes, I can second Toralf's comment. I'm not 100% sure if this issue is the root cause (I suspect it is), but RSIBreak doesn't actually work. The timer keeps getting reset when it shows the "wait X seconds" dialog.
