STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1.  Navigate to some subfolder within a subfolder within a subfolder. Make sure that the folder you navigate to is not the only child of its parent folder
2. Navigate to the parent by clicking on it in the "breadcrumbs" at the top

OBSERVED RESULT
The child directory you were previously in is not selected within the parent

EXPECTED RESULT
It should be, and it used to be. This has changed recently and the old behavior was useful
