When Itinerary knows my seat and the vehicle layout it should directly indicate the most relevant platform position (e.g. the block letter) in the main UI, for example next to the seat information.

Currently one has to open the departure vehicle layout and manually obtain the block letter for the reserved coach

Yep, makes sense and is needed internally anyway to also highlight the corresponding sections on the map when available.
