Description barteks2x 2022-05-01 18:57:55 UTC
SUMMARY

This is a problem I have on my system for some time, where the first login after boot has mismatched desktop and display area, making interaction with the desktop very difficult.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. I have no idea how to reproduce it outside of my PC. For me it happens every time after the first login after reboot.

OBSERVED RESULT
Mismatched desktop and display area. This video shows what happens: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uyDL2vtc9jo

EXPECTED RESULT
Desktop interaction should work normally.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux, debian testing
KDE Plasma Version: 5.24.4
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.90.0
Qt Version: 5.15.2

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
If that's relevant, I'm using proprietary nvidia drivers.

Are you using X11 or Wayland?
Comment 2 barteks2x 2022-05-03 19:54:05 UTC
This is on X11
Comment 3 Nate Graham 2022-05-04 17:37:02 UTC
1. Does it work on Wayland?
2. Have you forced Plasma to use Qt scaling? What does `env | grep PLASMA_USE_QT_SCALING` say?
