SUMMARY

Hi - I love Okular, been using it for a while.

In Linux Mint, the thumbnails do not use the generic PDF/Okular icon. It shows me a really helpful preview of the document. ie. The icon will be a preview of the first page of the document. In Windows 10, however, I only get generic Okular icons, not the first page of the PDF as the icon. Say I have a bunch of ebooks: In Linux, I can tell what's what at a glance by seeing all the covers, and it is awesome. In Windows 10, I'm looking at a sea of Okular icons and need to read filenames etc.

How do I make the icon preview behave the same in Windows 10 as it does in Linux?

I've been searching for the answer for a long time. Any help would be much appreciated.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Install Okular on Windows 10 and see that the PDF icons are not previews, but generic Okular icons. This behavior is different to Linux, which shows the first page of the PDF document as the thumbnail/icon.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Not working: Windows 10 - latest.
Working: Linux Mint - latest

Okular is not responsible for those thumbnails you see in your file manager in Linux, the file manager (or some of its plugins) does that.

One would need to do that for Windows, but in my opinion it is out of scope for Okular.
