using the git version of kde with this commit: 

https://invent.kde.org/plasma/plasma-workspace/-/commit/2e056ed6e563f5f0fd7975186db8238adb20b6cf

breaks appmenu. The appmenu appears, but clicking on the menu does not make any "submenu appear", except search. In the logs, it appears:

plasmashell[71423]: file:///usr/share/plasma/plasmoids/org.kde.plasma.appmenu/contents/ui/main.qml:117: TypeError: Cannot read property 'visible' of null


when compiling plasma-workspace git version with that commit reverted, appmenu works again.
