Description The Feren OS Dev 2022-04-24 23:16:30 UTC
SUMMARY
The fuse3 package in KDE neon no longer provides the package 'fuse', which can cause some KDE components to get uninstalled in a system update using apt, among other potential issues from the sudden loss of 'fuse' providing by fuse3.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Update your system using apt, I suppose

OBSERVED RESULT
In my cases, it ended up uninstalling these items as a result of the fuse3 upgrade:
kdeconnect:amd64 (21.12.3-0xneon+20.04+focal+release+build36), ntfs-3g:amd64 (1:2017.3.23AR.3-3ubuntu1.1), gvfs-fuse:amd64 (1.44.1-1ubuntu1), python3-fuse:amd64 (2:1.0.0-3build1), exfat-fuse:amd64 (1.3.0-1), sshfs:amd64 (3.6.0+repack+really2.10-0ubuntu1)

EXPECTED RESULT
APT wouldn't end up uninstalling those packages

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Windows:
macOS:
Linux/KDE Plasma: KDE neon 5.24.4
(available in About System)
KDE Plasma Version: 5.24.4
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.93.0
Qt Version: 5.15.3

KNOWN FIX
You can fix this by re-adding the "Provides: fuse" line in fuse3's DEBIAN control file, as was already present beforehand in the Ubuntu repositories version of the package.

Thank you for your bug report!
However this bug report was created/provided previous to 01/01/2023 and also has not received any updates since before 01/01/2025.
Unfortunately KDE neon no longer provides updates for anything older than noble 24.04 based edition's.
Please upgrade to KDE neon noble and if you can reproduce the issue after upgrading to an active version, feel free to re-open this bug report.
Thanks for understanding!
