Description tomtomtomreportingin 2022-04-23 01:21:27 UTC
Despite being an avid user of the software, I only recently realized that the Dynamic Brush Tool gives pleasing, stabilized curves for my inking compared to the typical smoothing options of the Freehand Brush Tool. With a conservative configuration, it also doesn't get in the way when drawing tiny lines/circles like the "Weighted" option does, nor does it suffer from the jagginess of the "Stabilizer" option.

Not only is there a discoverability issue here for users looking for ideal stabilization (or at least stabilization similar to solutions from other software), but this separate tool is often ignored by brush preset hotkey plugins such as Ten Brushes and Three Slots, causing additional workflow papercuts having to juggle additional hotkeys/actions. It also just feels redundant to have a separate brush tool simply for another stabilization algorithm.

Additional suggestions:
* Rename "Brush Smoothing" label to "Brush Stabilization"
* To go along with the above suggestion, rename the "Stabilizer" option to "Traditional" (?)
* Perhaps add the stabilization actions to the default toolbar
* Reset buttons to reset to the default stabilizer configurations

I wholeheartedly second this.
