Setting Krita to fixed refresh in NVIDIA Control Panel while having g-sync enabled for windowed and fullscreen does surprisingly not fix it, and makes the entire screen blink black instead (not just the Krita window)

Comment 9 Halla Rempt 2022-05-25 12:36:03 UTC
That definitely looks like a display driver problem. You could also try to switch from Angle to OpenGL -- that uses a different driver and might work better on an NVidia card.
Comment 10 2wswer 2022-05-25 13:08:50 UTC
Switching to OpenGL resolves the issue for me. So it must be a problem with the DirectX Angle renderer.
Comment 11 Halla Rempt 2022-05-25 13:10:14 UTC
Thanks for checking! That means it's outside of Krita's codebase, though. (We use the same opengl code to render the image, just access a different driver)
Comment 12 Alvin Wong 2022-05-25 13:12:28 UTC
If possible you should complain to NVIDIA about their driver breaking applications. Other than that, since none of the Krita developers have an NVIDIA plus g-sync setup there isn't much we can do, sorry.
