Note: this is a duplicate of bug 417201.  I'm reporting it again because I have a new version of Kate and the same bad behavior is happening again.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Kate is open and has several files open in tabs.
2. From Windows Explorer, double-click on associated file.

OBSERVED RESULT
A new Kate window is opened containing the file I double-clicked on

EXPECTED RESULT
The file should open in a new tab within the already running Kate instance

Could you retry with the current 22.04.x release?
