I have a dell xps13 laptop which is connected to internet through a usb-c DS-1000 docking station, itself connected through an ethernet port. The ethernet connection works, but I have no way to configure it in KDE. The connection does not appear neither in the network applet, nor in KDE settings. Linux/KDE Plasma: debian bookwrom (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 5.24.3 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.90.0 Qt Version: 5.15.2
So I discovered this was a problem with NetworkManager not managing this network interface, and I fixed it. Gnome displays a "Device Not Managed", which is more helpful, since you can search for the problem on the web. Would be good to do the same in Plasma. Thanks.
Good idea!

I've got a setup like this myself now, and the ethernet connection appears in plasma-nm. So it looks like perhaps some upstream change in NetworkManager fixed it.
