Description Johannes 2022-03-22 00:21:45 UTC
SUMMARY
I mostly use Color -> Auto-Correction to see which potential an image has - though often the proposed changes (e.g. using Auto Levels) are too intense. I would like to see the changes the AutoCorrectionTool wants to make and use these values easily (with one click) as a starting point for editing in the manual editing tools.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Apply “Color auto-correction” to a photo

OBSERVED RESULT
When the propagated changes are not exactly what you want, you have to try adjusting the photo manually which is not easy.

EXPECTED RESULT
There is e.g. a context menu when right-clicking on a preview of an automatic correction level with an entry “manual editing“ which brings you to the corresponding tool with automatic correction values set.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: Ubuntu 20.04.4 LTS
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.89.0
Qt Version: 5.15.2 (built against 5.15.2)

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
This suggestion would be a great improvement because you can choose the preview which looks best and go straight to the right tool, so there is no need to figure out which editing tool you have to open.

There are actually no parameters here that we could display. Some autocorrect tools create a histogram and stretch as much as possible, others find the highest and lowest RGB values and adjust the image.

Hi,

For me this entry is a non sense. I don't understand this file... As Maik said, all is automatized in this tool (algorithms).

I'll try to explain it better:
I use Color -> Auto-Correction often without applying a filter (just looking at the previews as a starting point for image editing) because the proposed changes (e.g. using Auto Levels) are too intense. Then I would like to know what the corresponding tool for the respective Auto-Correction filter is to manually edit the image.

A possible solution would be a context menu when right-clicking on a preview of an automatic correction level with an entry which brings you to the corresponding tool.

We don't have any parameters so you can get the same results with other tools. I read that you want to influence the "Intensity". So I am adding it to a more recent bug report as a duplicate.
