The Adaptive sync setting, under System Settings -> Display and Monitor, keeps resetting back to Automatic (the default) when the monitor is turned off or goes to sleep.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Change "Adaptive sync" to "Never" in System Settings and click Apply (then Keep).
2. Turn off the monitor, or let power saving put it to sleep
3. Turn on the monitor, or wake it up

OBSERVED RESULT

The "Adaptive sync" setting is set back to Automatic.

EXPECTED RESULT

The "Adaptive sync" setting stays on Never.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Windows:
macOS:
Linux/KDE Plasma: Debian Linux kernel version 5.16.12
(available in About System)
KDE Plasma Version: 5.24.3
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.90.0
Qt Version: 5.15.2

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

I'm using a Radeon RX 580 with the amdgpu kernel driver, with an LG 27GP850 monitor connected via Display Port. Because of what seems to be bug #451386, Adaptive sync causes KWin-Wayland to seize up for me when the display is turned off or goes to sleep. I set Adaptive sync to Never which seems to partially work around the issue, letting KWin-Wayland remain functional when the monitor is turned off and back on (although bug #451702 prevents this from being a full workaround), but I found it keeps getting reset back to Automatic afterward.

This issue is marked as resolved, and yet I am still experiencing it in the latest version of Plasma. Is there a workaround or has it actually been patched?

Latest release version, or the latest git version? The current release version seems to be 5.24.3, but the patch fixing the issue will be in the upcoming 5.24.4 release, so unless you're using the latest git we need to wait for 5.24.4.

I'm using the latest release version in the Arch repos, not the git repo. That would make sense then. Thanks for confirming this fix!

Is this still happening with 5.24.4?
