SUMMARY So the "Media Player" entry is shown (Setting is set to: 'Show when relevant') even when the media cannot be controlled. When hovering over the icon it says "Paused - <AppName>, <PhoneName>", but when expanded it says "No Media Playing". I experienced this bug while using KDE connect, so I'm not sure which part is the problem, but I guess it might be the media player applet??? STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Use an media app that cannot be controlled by KDE connect on your phone OBSERVED RESULT The "Media Player" applet shows up EXPECTED RESULT The "Media Player" applet doesn't show up because when opened it says "No Media Playing" SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Operating System: Garuda Linux KDE Plasma Version: 5.24.3 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.92.0 Qt Version: 5.15.3 Kernel Version: 5.16.14-zen1-1-zen (64-bit) Graphics Platform: Wayland Processors: 8 × AMD Ryzen 5 3500U with Radeon Vega Mobile Gfx Memory: 5.7 GiB of RAM Graphics Processor: AMD Radeon Vega 8 Graphics
Can confirm. Being able to see the media on your phone via KDE Connect is nice, though. I guess the bug is that KDE Connect doesn't let the playback controls work.
