"About this System"

SUMMARY
kde launcher plays peek a boo

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
Just keep using the system. Every now and then it plays peek a boo just to make me laugh. if there's anything i can capture for you when it happens let me know.

OBSERVED RESULT
5 days out of 6 it works fine. But sometimes it gets silly and wants to play with me. When i poke the window key or the launcher button the launcher rolls up and immediately rolls down again, no matter how many times i poke it.

EXPECTED RESULT
Roll up and let me click something.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
My packages are fully updated as of 3/7. it has this wild streak every now and then ever since i installed and instantly became a manjaro lover last november.

Weird, never encountered this.
Comment 2 Nate Graham 2022-09-08 03:47:05 UTC
Is it just Kickoff, or other panel widgets' pop-ups as well?
Comment 3 basm 2022-09-09 23:11:05 UTC
i've only encountered peek a boo behavior with the launcher/kickoff, tho worth pointing out i 99.9% of the time launch things from bash, so i'm hardly ever poking at the launcher, maybe that's why it sometimes gets so giddy when i actually try to pay attention to it
Comment 4 basm 2022-09-16 18:16:32 UTC
i'm only in the 3rd day after installing tumbleweed kde(plasma 5.25.5, frameworks 5.98.0) on an Elitebook 840 g2, and the kde launcher is playing peek a boo with me on here too! it only happens occasionally on my Thinkpad e540 with manjaro kde(plasma 5.24.6, frameworks 5.96.0). it worked a bit here on tumbleweed, but now it's being rather persistent, after rebooting it's still playing, not letting me launch anything. Perhaps it's related to settings i've chosen, like maybe Focus follows mouse, mouse precedence, extreme focus stealing prevention? Perhaps indeed! When i change to Medium focus stealig prevention the launcher works fine! And if i change right back to Extreme focus stealing prevention right away the launcher plays peek a boo. Looks like i'll manage to get by by stepping back to merely Medium focus stealing prevention.
