Description cybik 2022-03-10 18:39:42 UTC
SUMMARY
***
On occasion, the Overview effect will not accept input after being triggered (for the record, using the meta key as a trigger), and would only "untrigger" by way of either another active input method (like a mouse click) or hitting the hotkey again. For some reason, input "acceptance" unblocks itself by some random means and Overview may "decide" to accept input further into the live session.

My theory is that the input "grabbing" by the new Overview effect fails to *always* forcibly grab the input. How to fix it, I don't know.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Use Pop_OS 21.10 with the latest kubuntu-backports for impish
2. Use the desktop for a bit of time
3. Encounter this glitch where the Overview fails to respond to input at its own leisure
4. File a bug

OBSERVED RESULT
Overview randomly decides to not grab the input.

EXPECTED RESULT
Overview *always* grabs the input no matter what.

Are you using Latte Dock?

@TYY331 I am not. Classic docks.

One thing to note is, sometimes this happens when I'm playing a game that *might* be forcibly grabbing inputs. In one case I managed to alt-tab out of the game to "fix" the behaviour, but other times it might just stop working, or it might not "recover" after closing the game.

So I'm not sure if it's the game messing the input grabbing, or if the input grabbing itself isn't "forcing" enough.
