SUMMARY: It would be useful to have a Flatpak or Snap of Baloo that can be installed on older or LTS systems so that people can pick up updated versions if they are meeting issues that have been fixed upstream. USE CASES: Example cases, Bug 449242/449293, Bug 447157 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: May be considered a "Summary Bug" for issues with unmaintained versions of Baloo. Somewhat speculatively, this might also provide a mechanism to control Baloo resource usage (flatseal / systemd / cgroups?)
This isn't really a thing we can do. Flatpak and snap are not designed to be used in this way. People should just use better distros that offer more up-to-date software. The concept of the "stable release" distro that ships old broken things for years is just itself the problem IMO.
