Created attachment 147275 [details] Discover screenshot SUMMARY *** When Discover is done checking for updates, it sometimes shows weird buttons at the bottom (see attached screenshot). They seem to have the same functionality as the two buttons "Aktualisieren" and "Alle aktualisieren" in the top right of the window, as they have the same icons and their tooltips say so. I am using Kubuntu 21.10 with the Backports PPA enabled, so I should have the latest Plasma packages installed (apart from the packages you can see in the screnshot, of course ;) ) *** STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Wait for the Discover system tray icon to appear, informing me about pending updates 2. Click on it 3. Wait for Discover to compile the list of pending updates (which, as a sidenote, takes very long for me, is this normal? Longer than `apt update` and `flatpak update` combined, at least...) OBSERVED RESULT Now, Discover looks like in the attatched screenshot. EXPECTED RESULT Those misaligned buttons at the bottom should look nicer (or be gone completely, since their functionality is already covered by the buttons in the top right). SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: Kbuntu 20.10, Backports PPA enabled KDE Plasma Version: 5.24.2 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.91.0 Qt Version: 5.15.2 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Kernel Version: 5.12.0-30-generic (64-bit) Graphics platform: X11
The bottom buttons showing up was a Qt issue that was fixed many months ago, with the fix backported to the KDE Qt patch collection. If you're still seeing them, it means your distro is not using it, or has not updated it in a long time. I would recommend that you report this to them.
Thank you for your reply! Wouldn't this KDE Qt patch collection be part of the Backports PPA for Ubuntu though, similar to all other KDE related packages? I have the PPA enabled but still get this issue. Since this bug is only cosmetoc, I think I'll wait for Ubuntu 22.04 to come out, and if it is still present, report it. Have a nice day!
No, the Kubuntu backports PPA only includes KDE software. To my knowledge it does not include any updated Qt packages beyond what's already provided by the distro.
