No snaps can be browsed in Discover. I can search for snaps (if I know the name of the snap) and discover will find them, but when I click Applications in the main menu, I only see packages from the repo and not snaps. To verify this, just go to Developer Tools -> IDEs and you'll see that Android Studio is not there.

When I browse I also don't see any flatpaks although the flatpak backend is similarly enabled. I can search for flatpaks.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Go to Applications -> Developer Tools -> IDEs, Android Studio is not there (all snaps are not displayed when browsing). However, when you type in Android Studio into the search box, you can find the snap.

OBSERVED RESULT
Snaps cannot be browsed.

EXPECTED RESULT
Snaps can be browsed.

Missing appstream metadata maybe?
Comment 2 Aleix Pol 2022-03-22 16:30:44 UTC
snap doesn't need appstream metadata, flatpak always brings the metadata with itself every time.

Which distro are you on?
Can you see that you have snapd running?
Can you check that you have flatpak remotes listed in the settings tab? You can also check running "flatpak remote-list" on the terminal.

I'm on Kubuntu. Snapd is definitely running (I can install snaps). I have Flathub enabled.

Again, installing snaps and flatpaks works. It's just that it seems discover doesn't have a feature to browse them without having to search.
