Description Bernie Innocenti 2022-02-28 04:58:33 UTC
SUMMARY

Discover finds the "Win7 Volume Mixer" plasmoid, but is unable to install it. The installation gets stuck as described in bug #413516 and bug #425265.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Run plasma-discover from a terminal and search for "win7 volume"
2. Click Install
3. (I think I uninstalled and re-installed a second time, but not so sure)

Discover will print this on stdout:

No installable candidates in the KNewStuff entry "Win7 Volume Mixer" with id "1100894" on the backend "plasmoids.knsrc" There should always be at least one downloadable item in an OCS entry, and if there isn't, we should consider it broken. OCS can technically show them, but if there is nothing to install, it cannot be installed.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
KDE Plasma Version: 5.25.80 (git)
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.92.0 (git)
Qt Version: 5.15.2 + kde (ArchLinux)

The error message does make it sound like the content is broken, but ideally someone who speaks KNS would be able to chime in. Also printing the error message to console rather than displaying it in the main window is not great.

Do you still get this issue? It works fine for me.
