STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Delete the partitions of a USB Stick
2. Create a new GPT partition table
3. Create a new ext4 partition
4. save
5. restore the partition using an .img or .iso file
6. try to boot into it

OBSERVED RESULT
I cant boot, after selecting the stick I get immediately reverted to the "select boot medium" window in BIOS.

The same happened when I tried to create a bootable stick with unetbootin or the normal terminal way. I tried to do it about 5 times.

In Windows, using Rufus, it worked perfectly at the first try.

EXPECTED RESULT
Why should Linux have problems creating a bootable Linux USB drive?
What can Rufus do what the Linux programs cant?

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: Kubuntu
(available in About System)
KDE Plasma Version: 5.22.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.86.0
Qt Version: 5.15.2

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Old very well supported hardware, BIOS, no secureboot, no problems installing Linux or running live USB in general.

That's now how you create bootable USB.

You need to write image onto the whole device, not partition of the USB stick. At the moment partitionmanager does not have that functionality but you can use isoimagewriter or dd or quite a few other programs.

Also, if the issue you're encountering happens when you use other methods too, then this isn't an issue in Partition Manager. I would recommend that you ask for support in a place set up to offer user support, such as https://www.reddit.com/r/kde. KDE's bugtracker is for tracking bugs specific to KDE's software, not user support. :)
