Created attachment 146968 [details] How comparison works now SUMMARY *** NOTE: If you are reporting a crash, please try to attach a backtrace with debug symbols. See https://community.kde.org/Guidelines_and_HOWTOs/Debugging/How_to_create_useful_crash_reports *** Getting many images and crops of the same photos, during selection by using the view feature, it's difficult to assess the images relation with respect to their part taken from the original picture and to the compared crops sizes. The reason is, on one hand, the dedicated area for each displayed image, designed to be even, and the zoom ratio for images of different sizes, on the other hand. STEPS TO REPRODUCE As an example, I have submitted two crops (freely available on the Internet) and the default view. OBSERVED RESULT The image to the left is actually smaller than the one to the right, but their sizes and zoom may lead to the conclusion is reversed. EXPECTED RESULT The feature should provide an option/command to display the images according to their pixel ratio, including when zoomed, that would show the left image at its real size by comparison to the right image. At default zoom should be able to show the images entirely, with the expected uneven areas, due to the images ratios. Created attachment 146970 [details] 1600 x 1200 image
Created attachment 146971 [details] Sort of desired zoom The image shown how it should look regarding the vertical aspect ratio, but the image to the right does not fit in the view, hence is cut out the view. Could not make it as desired and displayed entirely because the application allocates even areas for the images. Also, could not set manually a zoom below the computed limit of 50% in my tests. When tried to set manually, typed 30 in the combo edit box, but it set 667% or other values. This is unmanageable manually.
