1/ which digiKAm version did you use ? 2/ here, on my macbook pro, i already upgrade the OS without to lost settings. All digiKam configuration are stored in user directory. There is no reason to lost this data. Gilles Caulier
The collection settings are in the database and are not changed during an update. Maik
(In reply to Maik Qualmann from comment #2) > The collection settings are in the database and are not changed during an > update. Unless the OP is talking about a major upgrade, done via a clean install? ;)
I first assumed that the OP did an update from digiKam. However, MacOS has been updated to Monterey. Well, since we don't know the digiKam version used, it may just be that it's too old. Maik
Erm, if the digiKam version is too old to run on 12.x it probably shouldn't run at all, not simply lose all settings and then work again after resetting them. And if an update of digiKam itself causes this kind of factory reset, well, I'd call that a bug! One that I'd get very pissed about ;)
We should stop looking into the crystal ball, we don't even know what type of database the OP is using. Maik
The user must check at least the compatibility of digiKam with the MacOS version used. It listed in online documentation: https://docs.digikam.org/en/getting_started/installation.html#digikam-on-macos Gilles Caulier
