Description Edar José Blanco Rodríguez 2022-02-18 04:56:06 UTC
SUMMARY
When changing between tracks, the volume goes to the maximum, even if I lower it a little it returns to the maximum, it only happens when I change the track manually, when the track changes when following the playlist it does not happen, it keeps the same volume, I thought it would be a problem with plasma and I rebuilt the package from scratch but the result was the same, although this happened since the last updates of the Plasma version 5.23 and in the current 5.24 it also happens

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open amarok and play a track
2. Change the track manually
3.

OBSERVED RESULT
Audio maxes out with each manual track change

EXPECTED RESULT
Audio stays at the same level as you set it

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: ArchLinux
KDE Plasma Version: 5.24
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.91
Qt Version: 5.15.2

Hello,
I think Amarok was deprecated long time ago in favour of Elisa.
I don't it will work in current plasma 5.24.

It's certainly not well maintained due to lack of developer time, but it fits a different use case than Elisa in my opinion and nobody "deprecated" it. It works fine for me with Plasma 5.24 and I'm a bit surprised why Plasma would have an influence.

Which phonon backend do you use?

Sorry about the deprecated statement.
I was trying to install it but I could not find it in the Ubuntu repository or KDE neon repo.
Finally I found in Wikipedia that last version was from 2018 and in some forums there were comments about that was removed from recent repositories due kde4 library issues etc.

All my bad, sorry about that,
I see that last version is from
Amarok 2.9.71 Alpha out now!

Unfortunately I can't test it.

I think you need to wait to someone with more knowledge can comment about it.

Thank you for this information, I completely cooled off when I read that Elisa replaced him

My mistake, I wrote in Spanish

The error occurs when trying to change a track manually, if I just follow the playback of the list, and it changes automatically, nothing happens if the volume is at 80% it stays that way, but if the track is changed manually the volume returns at 100%, this started to happen when I upgraded from KDE 5.23 to 5.24, my phonon backend hasn't changed
