Can you post the output of `qdbus org.kde.KWin /KWin supportInformation`?

Do any animations work in any KWin effects?? Does your ~/.config/kwinrc file have a line in it that begins with "AnimationDurationFactor"? If so, does it start working if you remove that line and reboot?
Comment 4 smit 2022-02-17 04:33:33 UTC
So this is not Wayland related. This started happening in 5.24 (I started using wayland since this release). I was using xorg in 5.23 and today just checked x11 session today 5.24 and this happens in xorg session as well.

In ~/.config/kwinrc, under `[Effect-kwin4_effect_scale]` I removed the `Duration` line and now its working. (I remember it was working in 5.23).

Also there is no `AnimationDurationFactor` in my ~/.config/kwinrc

Also from UX point of view, if user changed the effect setting then it should also change color like other changed settings. This way, User can know that configuration is at play in situations like this.

What was the old value of the Duration field?
