Hello I apologize in advance if this is the wrong place to report this. The reason I think it is something related to plasma is that it is not reproducible in X11 sessions. SUMMARY Audio output through the Display-Port cable to my monitor is not being recognized. The monitor is Gigabyte G27QC 27'' STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Start a Wayland session with the same setup OBSERVED RESULT No Audio output device. EXPECTED RESULT HDMI / Display-Port 3 audio device that uses the monitor's speakers. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: Arch Linux x86_64 (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 5.24.0 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.91.0 Qt Version: 5.12.2 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION I am using a RTX 3070 with the nvidia 510.47.03-6 driver. with GBM enabled in kernal parameters to be able to lunch the Wayland session. I'll be glad to provide anymore needed information.
Please attach the output of "pactl list" for both X11 and Wayland
Created attachment 146767 [details] pact list output on the X11 session
Created attachment 146768 [details] pact list output on the Wayland session
I would like to add that sometimes the audio output will not be recognized on X11 session login. I have to turn off and on the screen for it to be recognized. However, it is never recognized in the Wayland session.
Note that for HDA NVidia GA104 High Definition Audio Controller the current profile is set to "Off". If you change that to "Digital Stereo (HDMI 3) Output" in the system setting do you get your audio outputs?
(In reply to Nicolas Fella from comment #5) > Note that for HDA NVidia GA104 High Definition Audio Controller the current > profile is set to "Off". If you change that to "Digital Stereo (HDMI 3) > Output" in the system setting do you get your audio outputs? Ah yes it works fine now. So this means that this is a human error and not a bug right? Sorry if that should've been obvious, I didnt think different sessions will have different audio configurations.
When you reboot the system, does it stay that way or is it set to Off again?
Yes it stays the way it is, with the correct profile.
