STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. use Wayland session
2. open Kate
3. lock your screen

OBSERVED RESULT
a white rectangle is visible for a few milliseconds. Please watch the attached screen recording.

EXPECTED RESULT
no visual glitch

I can reproduce this when Kate isn't running.

Tested on Arch Linux running Plasma 6 alpha and neon unstable; cannot reproduce.
