Description Paul Worrall 2022-02-12 13:09:11 UTC
SUMMARY
The "Pick a screen colour" function provided by the colour chooser dialogue which is used in several places does not work under Wayland

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. In a Wayland session
2. System Settings => Appearance => Colours: Click the button to choose a custom accent colour (or launch the same dialogue some other way).
3. Click "Pick Screen Colour"

OBSERVED RESULT
1. The cursor coordinates update only while the mouse pointer is within the dialogue
2. It is not possible to pick a screen colour either within the dialogue or anywhere else

EXPECTED RESULT
Able to pick a colour from anywhere on the screen (as you can in X11)

Operating System: KDE neon 5.24
KDE Plasma Version: 5.24.0
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.90.0
Qt Version: 5.15.3
Kernel Version: 5.13.0-28-generic (64-bit)
Graphics Platform: Wayland
Processors: 2 × AMD A6-6400K APU with Radeon(tm) HD Graphics
Memory: 7.7 GiB of RAM
Graphics Processor: AMD CEDAR

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Works OK in X11
If confirmed, maybe should be added to https://community.kde.org/Plasma/Wayland_Showstoppers

Reproducible with git-master, and in my machine don't picking the color even when clicking in somewhere inside the same panel

Possibly duplicate of bug 389935
Comment 3 Paul Worrall 2022-02-14 15:27:50 UTC
Need to decide what is the right product to assign these bugs to and then link them both.

Should it be plasma-integration as suggested on 389935 ?
