See https://community.kde.org/Guidelines_and_HOWTOs/Debugging/How_to_create_useful_crash_reports *** STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Install an ubuntu based distro (I did mint) 2. Then install kde neon over it. 3. When I install kde neon by erasing entire disk this error shows up OBSERVED RESULT I got an error (it's in the attachment) EXPECTED RESULT Installing Normally with no issue SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS OS: KDE Neon 5.24 User Edition KDE Plasma Version: 5.24.0 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.90.0 Qt Version: 5.15.3 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION I tried installing kde neon on actual hardware over mint and on a vm over mint and reinstalled neon over neon. Workaround: Use gnome disk utility and installed it by "sudo apt install gnome-disk-utility" and wiped disk with quick wipe. When I made a new vm it installed normally with out any issues.

I had exact this problem when I tried to install Neon in a VM. The workaround was erase all partitions and a follow the instructions to create them manually. Erase entire disk option should just work.
Created attachment 146600 [details] installation error I just did a test to replicate the issue in VM. It happen when the disk already has partitions. steps: 1 - Install Kde neon user in new VM machine 2 - install again with erase option 3 - The error appears

Thank you for your bug report! However this bug report was created/provided previous to 01/01/2023 and also has not received any updates since before 01/01/2025. Unfortunately KDE neon no longer provides updates for anything older than noble 24.04 based edition's. Please upgrade to KDE neon noble and if you can reproduce the issue after upgrading to an active version, feel free to re-open this bug report. Thanks for understanding!
