Description Oded Arbel 2022-02-08 15:36:45 UTC
SUMMARY
The new overview effect supports very minimal keyboard navigation to select and manipulate presented windows. The following is a list of changes that I think are needed to make the overview effect "keyboard friendly":

- Navigate across screens: with multiple screens, when pressing right arrow on the right most window in the left most screen, I'd expect the highlight to move to the next screen to the right, like the "Present Windows" effect does.
- Allow switching to another virtual desktop: either honor the standard virtual desk switching shortcuts or add a specific shortcut that is a proper UX for the linear virtual desktop list on top.
- Shortcut to close windows: like pressing the close overlay button or center click.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma:
KDE Plasma Version: 5.24.80
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.91.0
Qt Version: 5.15.3

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I have only tried overview on X11.

Good ideas, but could you please file one bug report per request? Meta-bugs like this that request more than one thing or report more than one bug tend not to be actionable. See https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved/Issue_Reporting#One_issue_per_Bugzilla_ticket

Also make sure to use the "wishlist" importance when requesting features. :) Then there's no need to prefix the title with [Feature request].
