Description mikebdp2 2022-02-01 08:14:48 UTC
No matter where I tap or long tap in my message history, still I can't find a way to edit my own previously-sent messages. Experienced on Pinephone (so - a smaller screen than Desktop) running Alpine Linux / PostmarketOS with KDE Plasma Mobile

hi,
Do you have correct date time on your computer ?
Are you able to edit message in RC client ?

Yes

Official RC client, available at https://rocket.chat/install , could edit the same messages fine.

To clarify: in Ruqola I don't even see any UI button for entering the "Edit message" mode, and tapping / long tapping also doesn't help.

context menu ?
or alt + arrow top ?

In Rocket.Chat , both ways work.

In Ruqola, context menu "doesn't work" - by that, I mean I don't know where it's located.
I.e. there's a smiley button, but no edit button. Alt + arrow top - works, really could edit and save: thank you, although it's not an obvious solution.

A pen icon button next to the reaction button would be nice. Context menu on right click is okay, but not too obvious.

The problem is that we already use pen icon when message was edited...
=> we will have 2 same icons sometime.
