SUMMARY
***
Brush tool display freezes intermittently during normal use.
***
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
Create or open an image. Select the Brush tool by clicking on the Brush Tool icon on the Toolbox docker. Using a Wacom Intuos tablet, begin painting. At some point, sometimes after only a few seconds, sometimes after several minutes, the brush outline will "freeze" on the display, i.e., stop moving. No amount of moving the pen using tablet or mouse will move the brush outline.

The brush outline can be "unfrozen" by changing the brush state in some way. Re-selecting the Brush Tool icon on the Toolbox docker will do it; so will re-selecting the brush from the Brush Preset History docker, changing the size or opacity of the brush, changing any of the brush options, or starting or stopping the brush stroke recorder. Perhaps significantly, pressing the "B" key to re-select the brush does *not* unfreeze the brush outline.

Once the brush outline has been unfrozen, it become apparent that the brush itself was never frozen; whatever brush strokes the user made while the brush outline sat motionless were actually applied to the image, and when the brush outline unfreezes, these brush strokes instantly become visible.

I have never seen something like this myself...

This sounds more like a display problem.

* Are you display drivers up to date?
* Does it make a difference if you switch from the Angle renderer to the OpenGL renderer?
* Can you still reproduce this issue with 5.1.0-beta1?
