SUMMARY Starting neon-unstable-20220130-0332.iso from USB Flash on Lenovo ThinkPad X220 in UEFI mode results in black screen right after selecting boot device. Turns out, for some reason, GRUB is not visible on the screen, but it works. If anything is printed before switching to graphical mode, GRUB works fine. The workaround is to add echo ok on top of grub.cfg in ISO file Please consider adding any echo string on top of the configuration or figure out if there any errors in grub or your configuration file. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Burn neon-unstable-20220130-0332.iso on USB Flash 2. Try to boot from this flash on Lenovo ThinkPad X220 OBSERVED RESULT Black screen. EXPECTED RESULT Visible GRUB menu
Still the same issue with neon-testing-20230801-0349.iso.
