SUMMARY The Touchpad applet is present in system tray when I use X11, but it is not when I use Wayland. Indeed, it's not yet compatible with Wayland.
Currently the Touchpad applet is present in the system tray when running the Wayland session on neon unstable. But the applet indicates that the touchpad is enabled even when it is not.

I'm afraid there's no longer anything to port to Wayland since the widget was deleted again for Plasma 6.
