Description Photon 2022-01-30 22:29:51 UTC
SUMMARY

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
Open multiple apps and shutdown. I suggest doing this with Qt and GTK apps together.

OBSERVED RESULT
Currently, shutting down with applications opened seems to cause a race condition or something, where applications are closing and Plasma itself is also ending its processes. This causes some glitches like: window frame disappearing, the shadow of the window frame losing its alpha channel and displaying a black/white background and desktop freezing for some seconds.

EXPECTED RESULT
Maybe Plasma components shouldn't shutdown until applications are closed? In Windows, there is a smooth experience as if the user is closing a lot of windows at the same time. Also, there is a screen informing that some programs are blocking the shutdown and ask the user to force close them while agreeing that data will be lost.

Are you in a VM? If so, does it reproduce on physical hardware?
