STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Call the hyperref package.
2. Insert an \href, using a URL with a dollar sign in it.
3. Add content below.

OBSERVED RESULT
All content after the lone $ is highlighted red, as if I am in math mode. 

EXPECTED RESULT
The lone dollar sign should not have triggered math mode highlighting.
