Description hockeymikey 2022-01-27 19:58:44 UTC
SUMMARY
I have an Omen 15 2020. So when a DDC enabled monitor is plugged into the hdmi port, powerdevil (with -DHAVE_DDCUTIL) is able to control it, but then the laptop monitor ceases to be controllable. Unplugging the hdmi monitor allows the laptop screen to be controlled again.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Plug DDC monitor into laptop
2. Try to dim screens

OBSERVED RESULT
Only dims DDC monitor

EXPECTED RESULT
Dims DDC monitor and laptop screen.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux: Arch
KDE Plasma Version: 5.23.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.90.0
Qt Version: 5.15.2

Thanks for the bug triaging work Nate! I know we usually prefer keeping the oldest bug when marking as duplicate, but given the conversation happened in the other thread I think it would be best to do it the other way around in cases like this :) I added a reply on the other bug.
