Description postix 2022-01-25 13:49:59 UTC
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Go to e.g. https://bugs.kde.org
2. Right click on e.g. "Home" and choose "Copy Link"

OBSERVED RESULT
Nothing happens.

EXPECTED RESULT
URL is copied to the clipboard. However copying text e.g. like from this input field, where I am writing, works fine.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Operating System: KDE neon Testing Edition
KDE Plasma Version: 5.23.90
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.91.0
Qt Version: 5.15.3
Kernel Version: 5.13.0-27-generic (64-bit)
Graphics Platform: Wayland
Graphics Processor: Radeon RX 580 Series
Comment 1 postix 2022-01-25 13:51:20 UTC
I have set `MOZ_ENABLE_WAYLAND=1`.
Comment 2 Patrick Silva 2022-01-25 17:49:09 UTC
I can not copy the url in the address bar when Firefox runs natively on Wayland on neon unstable.
Nothing is copied to clipboard. However, I can copy texts from webpages.

Small correction to comment 1: "However copying text e.g. like from this input field, where I am writing, works fine." should have been under "OBSERVED RESULT" and not "EXPECTED RESULT".

All of those use cases work perfectly for me with Firefox using MOZ_ENABLE_WAYLAND=1 as of current git master.

W/ the latest updates from today (and a reboot ofc), I still can reproduce it. Not sure what differs to your git master build and when the changes will be incorporated into Neon Testing.

Is it just that button that exhibits the issue? Or does it happen when you copy other text from other sources too?

It happens from other resources too, please see the screen recording.

Thanks for the screen recording! Seems like there are a few issues here:
- Copy link for unselected text does not work
- For selected text, it sometimes takes a few tries before copying works.

Not sure if they have different root causes or not.

All work for me right now FWIW.

Seems familiar - although with X rather than Wayland

This is from a couple of years back:
    https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=417590#c19
I'm pretty sure I'm still seeing the same, at least I see the same symptoms but would need to set up a test environment anew.

Also have a Firefox related:
    https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=433854#c7

I think the "watch point" is to check if you are testing with KVM guests....

For me, sometimes its there, and sometimes possible to work round, sometimes not. Seems a bit of a chameleon...
