SUMMARY STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open Plasma Settings > Window Management > Window Rules 2. Create Window Rule with the following settings: Window class (application): Unimportant Match whole window class: No Window types: All selected Position: Apply Initially: 100 x 100 Ignore requested geometry: Apply Initially: Yes 3. Click Apply 4. Launch Dolphin OBSERVED RESULT Dolphin window opens in the same position as when it was last closed EXPECTED RESULT Dolphin window should launch in the location specified in "Position" above SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Operating System: Debian GNU/Linux 11 unstable KDE Plasma Version: 5.23.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.88.0 Qt Version: 5.15.2 Kernel Version: 5.15.0-3-amd64 (64-bit) Graphics Platform: X11 Processors: 48 × Intel® Xeon® CPU E5-2697 v2 @ 2.70GHz Memory: 503.9 GiB of RAM Graphics Processor: AMD Radeon RX 580 Series ADDITIONAL INFORMATION All other applications I have tried (e.g. Konsole, Thunderbird, etc.) observe the Position rule and open a new window where specified (since Window class (application): Unimportant is set). Other Dolphin windows (e.g. Settings > Configure Dolphin... and Help > About Dolphin) observe the "Position" rule and open a new window where specified I have tried deleting ~/.config/dolphinrc and this does not solve the problem. I have tried other Window Rules Size & Position sittings and Dolphin ignores "Size" and "Initial placement" settings as well. However, it does observe "Maximized horizontaltally" and "Maximized vertically" settings.
