Screen Image of UI

Jan 22, 2022 - Desiring to move away from Sony software for several years now, Kdenlive was suggested and has been attempted. Each attempt - the attempts span at least 4 years and multiple versions of Kdenlive (both the stand alone and Windows install variants for each version) - has been met with a predominantly blank UI screen (ref. accompanying screen image) when the Kdenlive program is launched. The operating system is Windows 7 Pro, and the basic hardware is a fast i7 CPU with 32 GB of RAM and roughly a quarter TB of free disk space.
Note that when the top area of the UI is selected with a click, the menus appear upon hovering atop them and the associated menu options seem to work. Using Kdenlive in this way; of course, is not desirable. Again, this exact behavior has been observed for approximately 4 years.
Other video editors work fine in these exact conditions. Windows 7 Pro will remain the OS here for a couple more years, and the Sony (or other) editor will continue to be used unless your helpful suggestions offer a solution that make Kdenliive work. Thank you for endeavoring to help in this matter.

Thanks for your report!

It looks like a known issue with Intel Graphic Drivers. Please read https://docs.kdenlive.org/troubleshooting/windows_issues.html#intel-graphic-card-driver and try if it helps. We interested to hear if that helps!
