SUMMARY After some routine software updates, often (like today) I get a repeating warning popup saying *"system restart required"*. This popup persists even after several restarts. The only way to get rid of it is by shutting down the program "Discover". Hello, did you try updating yours system to Plasma Version: 5.23.5? https://launchpad.net/~kubuntu-ppa/+archive/ubuntu/backports I'm using it and I don't have this issue. Regards, Galder

No, I don't remember to have this issue. that's why I'm suggesting 5.23.5
I have been using Kubuntu 21.10 for months. You could try with latest stable version 5.23.5
This is already fixed in 5.24, in fact. Not 5.23 though.
