SUMMARY The animation slider (either under Quick Settings or Workspace Behavior/General Behavior) does not change animation speed. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Set animation slider to max, apply setting. Observe animations e.g. window minimise/maximise 2. Se animation slider to min, apply setting. Observe animations e.g. window minimise/maximise OBSERVED RESULT Changing the slider from min or max does not change animation speed EXPECTED RESULT Animation speed adheres to the slider postition SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: Fedora 35 KDE KDE Plasma Version: 5.23.90 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.90 Qt Version: 5.15.2
Cannot reproduce. 1. Does it affect animations other than window minimize/maximize animations? E.g. the slide animation when you click on a category in System Settings' sidebar view while there is only one column visible 2. What graphics hardware are you using? 3. Have you changed your screen's resolution or refresh rate from their default values?

It seems to work with system settings slider animation, everything else stays the same 2. AMD radeon RX 570, open source amdgpu driver and latest stable Mesa 3. No it's the default for my screen 1920x1080@60fps I've attached a screen recording to show how it's not doing anything (recorded in xorg session) but it's the same in wayland.
Does your ~/.config/kwinrc file have a line in it that begins with AnimationDurationFactor? If so you can safely remove it to fix the issue, and then this is a duplicate of Bug 431906.

Yes indeed it does and after deleting the line animations obey the slider again! Thank you for your swift resolution. I'm marking this as resolved. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 431906 ***
