STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Activate "Highlight changed settings"
2. Go to any KCM and change any setting, click on apply

OBSERVED RESULT
The just changed setting still has a blue rectangle. First when you hover the mouse over it, it becomes orange as expected.

EXPECTED RESULT
The just changed setting turns orange like all other changed settings without further user interaction.

Cannot reproduce in any KCM with current git master. Can you give me a specific example of a setting in a KCM that is broken for you?

A screen recording might also be nice.

I should have noted an example somewhere. I will try to figure (the) one tomorrow, as it doesn't seem to reproduce-able with all.

I don't find it anymore in the moment.

Screenrecording

I could reproduce it: The first part consists of actually not reproducing it, but then I figured out, that it's required to switch the KCM tab back- and forth. Please see the screen recording.

OK, can reproduce that.
Comment 7 Ismael Asensio 2024-01-12 22:20:42 UTC
I cannot reproduce this on the Window Switcher KCM `Stacking Order` as shown in the screenshot, but can on the Windows Behavior KCM (as per the screen recording).

Moving it to kwin_options

Now nothing works; forward-duping to Bug 481408 which tracks that.
