I would like to propose to add an option to display the preview on the second screen (if available). I.e. when you doubleclick a thumbnail, the preview window should opens up on the second screen. When you select a differnet thumbnail, the picture on the second screen shall be updated. This is different to the Fullscreen-mode, as the fullscreen mode - always opens on the default screen - you have to manually configure it to show on the other screen - is not synchronized with the selected thumbnail - does not allow zooming via ctrl-mousewheel
Hi, Try Slideshow tool, it can preview items with multi-screen support. Best Gilles Caulier
(In reply to caulier.gilles from comment #1) > Try Slideshow tool, it can preview items with multi-screen support. > But that is only for viewing, isn't it? If I want to work with the images (e.g. go roughly through the collection to remove bad/unwanted/duplicate images), I can't do that with the slide show, can I ? So I second the wish to show the preview window on a second screen (even if simply being able to undock it and move it there manually), so that a) have a larger preview b) have a larger list of thumbnails (instead of the narrow strip on top of the preview window) Best Johannes
Yes some operations are possible from the slideshow tool: https://i.imgur.com/0hjXgPq.png Gilles Caulier
Thank you for the prompt reply. However, I couldn't figure out which shortcut can delete an image (to trigger the "trash can" button). And it is not synchronized to the thumbnail view. So I don't get a "preview" that/how many similar pictures are upcoming. And while I can _show_ image properties/ratings, I cannot manipulate them in the slide show mode, correct? Thus, I would appreciate a view on a second screen that shows the image preview but also allows to "work" with the image (rate, rotate, provide context menu, delete, ...)
"Delete" Shortcuts : Look in Settings/Configure Shortcuts dialog. Gilles Caulier
Labels can be modified with mouse on a corner of slideshow view, if option is enable in Slideshow configure dialog. Tags can also assigned with a shortcuts normally, if they are configured win Tag properties dialog. See Tags Manager for details Gilles Caulier
The Online documentation for the Slideshow tool explain well how it can be used: https://docs.digikam.org/en/slideshow_tools/slide_tool.html For the Shortcuts, there are listed here : https://docs.digikam.org/en/setup_application/shortcuts_settings.html And for the Tags Manager : https://docs.digikam.org/en/main_window/tags_view.html#tag-manager I close this file now.
