SUMMARY
Just my opinion, but I think that holding down the key should do this action exactly once. Woo wooing in and out makes the desktop feel like a toy.

There's a lot of actions that look funny if you keyrepeat/spam them; this isn't really a bug in any of them, desktop grid included.
