SUMMARY Scrolling takes the focus away from the text field of the search bar. It is inconvenient and unexpected. It does not matter for konsole, which kind of screen output is being currently used: normal scrollback or an alternate (as in man/less/vim etc.) — it takes focus away in either case. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open Konsole or Yakuake. 2. Open search bar (Ctrl+Shift+F). 3. Scroll with mouse or touchpad over the empty area. OBSERVED RESULT Focus is lost from the search bar, any keyboard input now goes straight to the terminal, including Enter/Shift+Enter keys (a.k.a. "find next match"). EXPECTED RESULT Scrolling should not take the focus away. After all, when navigating the history through Enter and Shift+Enter keys you ain't loosing the focus immediately. So, why should you when correcting the scrollback with mouse?
