SUMMARY I use Emojis in my daily work (social media marketing). I was not very fond of the KDE Emoji Selector but I still wanted to use the "Meta + ." key shortcut to select an emoji. So I wanted to turn the shortcut for KDE Emoji Selector off. Then, I could proceed to set up another app for that very purpose. I went to the System Settings menu to turn the key shortcut for Emoji Selector off. I disabled both the default key shortcut for Emoji Selector and removed the entire Emoji Selector section. It worked okay - until next login. After login, I found that the default key shortcut, both Emoji Selector section and its default values have been restored - which made it impossible for me to use another app with the same key shortcut, "Meta + ." I use Polish translation of KDE so sorry if I got the names of some apps or menu sections wrong. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Go to "System Settings" menu, "Shortcuts" section. 2. Under "Applications" choose "Emoji Selector" 3. Delete the entire section for "Emoji Selector" 4. Confirm that pressing the previously setup key combination DOES NOT invoke Emoji Selector window 5. Log out then log in again 6. Go to the same view and see the "Emoji Selector" section was restored OBSERVED RESULT "Emoji Selector" key shortcut setting is being always recreated upon session login. EXPECTED RESULT "Emoji Selector" key shortcut setting should remain deleted. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: Debian Sid (unstable), Linux 5.15.0-2-amd64 KDE Plasma Version: 5.23.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.88.0 Qt Version: 5.15.2 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION A workaround is available: it is possible to change the "Emoji Selector" key shortcut to some unused key combination to avoid conflict. I also tried to manually remove "Emoji Selector" section from ~/.config/kglobalshortcutsrc but it still got restored upon new login. The name of the section in the file: "[org.kde.plasma.emojier.desktop]"
