SUMMARY Since the last time Chrome updated, clicking and dragging tabs always creates a new window and they can't be dragged back into another Chrome window. Keyboard shortcuts of Shift+Ctrl+PgUp/PgDn do allow tabs to be merged back into a window, but not being able to reorder tabs is a workflow killer. Several people seem to have reported the same thing with the latest Chrome build (97.0.4692.71) and I'm not 100% sure this is a KWin issue but it seemed the logical place to report for Plasma as it's to do with window management and the issue reportedly doesn't exist using the same Chrome build under Xfce or Gnome. There's current discussion of this issue at https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity-2d/+bug/935713 STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Install latest Chrome. 2. Create several new tabs. 3. Try to drag a tab to reorder them. OBSERVED RESULT A new window is created rather than tabs being able to be reordered. EXPECTED RESULT A new window should only be created if the tab is dragged out of the window, and tabs should be able to be dragged into an existing Chrome window. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: using Kubuntu 21.10 (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 5.22.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.86.0 Qt Version: 5.15.2 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Not sure what would be relevant but will try to answer questions.
