Description Evgeny 2022-01-04 08:17:44 UTC
SUMMARY
Alacritty crashes sometimes when switching between different tty on wayland. See the bug report for additional details: https://github.com/alacritty/alacritty/issues/5684

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
To reproduce you can run dbus-run-session startplasma-wayland in 2 different tty, launch alacritty there and try to switch between them. It doesn't happen consistently, but after several attempts it crashes.

OBSERVED RESULT
Alacritty crashes

EXPECTED RESULT
Alacritty doesn't crash

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: NixOS 21.11
KDE Plasma Version: 5.23.3
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.87

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Sometimes after switching kwin starts to consume 100% cpu until you switch back, but it could be a separate issue.

Forgot to mention that I run plasma with different users in different tty.

Commented on the thread. I don't believe kwin to be in the wrong
